Main Responsibilities | Organisation

To oversee the effective functioning of the Government Secretariat machinery; provide support to the Chief Secretary for Administration and the Financial Secretary and plan for the Tamar Development Project.

   
*

To co-ordinate the Administration's dealings with the Legislature; act as the contact point between the HKSAR Government on the one hand and the Independent Commission Against Corruption or the Office of The Ombudsman on the other.

   
*

To facilitate implementation of measures in support of the population policy.

   
*

To serve as contact point between the Government and the Consular Corps; administer the system for honours and awards and the scheme for Justices of the Peace.

   
*

To process appeals against administrative decisions which come before the Administrative Appeals Board and the Municipal Services Appeals Board.

   
*

To develop and implement the policy for the management of government records in accordance with legal, fiscal, administrative, program and historical values; collect and make accessible archival records in accordance with provisions for access to information.
