Welcome Message

Welcome to the website of the Administration Wing.

The Administration Wing plays a pivotal role in discharging a broad spectrum of responsibilities. Our primary task is to provide support to the Chief Secretary for Administration and the Financial Secretary in overseeing the effective functioning of the Government Secretariat machinery.

We serve as the co-ordinator on the Government’s dealings with the Legislature as well as the contact point between the Government on one hand and the Judiciary, the Independent Commission Against Corruption and the Office of the Ombudsman on the other.

The Administration Wing is responsible for administering the system for honours and awards, and the scheme for Justices of the Peace. Our Protocol Division is further tasked with liaising with and providing host government service to the Consular Corps in the HKSAR and extending courtesies to national leaders and international dignitaries who visit Hong Kong.

The Administration Wing is also responsible for formulating legal aid policy and housekeeping the Legal Aid Department.

The Government Records Service under the Administration Wing oversees the overall government records management, develops policies and standards for such records management, and identifies and preserves government records with archival value for public access.

We also provide secretariat support for the Administrative Appeals Board, the Municipal Services Appeals Board and the Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee.

We would appreciate any comments or suggestions regarding the Administration Wing’s role and areas of responsibilities as well as information of this website.
